St. James Ministry in Tough Financial Times During these trying economic times we wonder how to respond as a faith community. Below are some of the ways we want to be a blessing, many of which are part of our ongoing ministry. Additionally as God inspires any of us, we will add to this list. Operation Charity At Home: For many years St. James has been reaching out in multiple ways to help those in need in our community. As more in our congregation are affected, each time we collect for an “Operation”, we will be setting a quarter of those funds aside for those in need here at St. James. Prayer Chain: Our prayer team will be starting a special prayer ministry for those searching for work. Just let us know if you would like to be added. Counseling and Encouragement: If finances are causing extra stress in your family or in your life, please feel free to make an appointment to come and talk and pray with our staff. Financial Advisors: Trusted financial advisors can be helpful in many ways including budgeting, investing, and debt management. Employment opportunities and résumé will be available here as they become available. Employment Workshops: In the very near future we will be adding a monthly workshop on networking, résumé writing and other skills important for getting a job. Easter Worship Series: Our Easter worship series, “God’s Advice for Troubled Times” will focus on practical, Biblical wisdom for times like ours. What Ideas Do You Have? If you think of any other ways we can be a blessing in these difficult times, please let us know and we’ll add them to the list. |
