Building Our Discipleship

Coming Fall 2008
A St. James Daily Devotional

I am so blessed by reading a daily devotional.  So often the scripture verse and the short reflection on it are exactly what I need that day…I feel like God picked it out especially for me.  And what is even more amazing is that I have heard so many other people say the same thing!

That is why I’m very excited that for this fall’s worship series “Building Our Discipleship,” we are putting together a daily devotional written by you, the people of St. James!  We are looking for a total of 63 devotions reflecting on 63 selected scripture readings.  The verses chosen cover different discipleship themes including; loving God, loving neighbor, vision/commitment, God’s blessings, learning (growing in knowledge), acting (growing our doing capacity), relating (growing our hearts), worship, community, serice, spiritual gifts, giving, evangelism, and what the Church should be.

Each devotional should be no longer than 200 words and will be put into a standard format and edited (as needed).  Click here to see the devotion/scripture chart and check back often for updates.

Please let me know which scripture(s) you would like to write about, so that once someone has chosen a verse, we can post that it is no longer available.  Please submit your devotion to me by August 18th Contact me at by email or at 610-287-7231.

God has blessed St. James with so many disciples of Jesus growing in faith and living their faith!  We pray that a St. James daily devotional will be a great way to encourage each other or share our stories!  So sharpen up your pencil or start up your computer and start writing a devotion to bless the people of St. James!

In His Love,
Bobbie Hoffman
